It's a great phone!
By David
I did a lot of research on the web of reviews of mobile phones before settling on this one. I wanted a WiFi/3G phone that would deliver facebook, messenger, youtube, music; all with a "proper" keyboard. In case I sound too yooffull I'd point out I'm 54 years of age! This phone delivers in spades! The Internet stuff works perfectly. (I think there's some issues around "flash" sometimes, but it never worries me). Download the Opera mini browser and the Internet is sorted. The phone works with BBC's iplayer and so as a TV in realtime! You can download programs to watch later (e.g. on the train). The mapping works fine once you realise how to turn the GPS on and that it only works outside or next to a window. Doh! The music/radio are quite adequate, do exactly what it says on the tin.The keyboard was a major factor in buying this phone and doesn't disappoint. I have stubby thumbs and worried about hitting two keys at once, it doesn't happen. Yes, you have to learn to use it, and initially you'll be thinking you were much quicker on the old phone. After a short time you will always use it.The touchscreen is a bit "thick". Sometimes doesn't do what you want. This is because it's lower grade technology than the iphone et al. That said, once you're adapted to it's foibles you get on quite well.SMS messaging, phone calls, email - all work with no problem. Didn't try the exchange sync set up for email, just used POP3 for incoming and SMTP for outgoing. That said, I have to set up each on completely different servers with different accounts/passwords and I was impressed that a) I could do this and b) it worked first time. The camera is not great, but that's fine - I have a camera. I don't care what colour the button to activate it is. It is too easy to hit said button by accident though, but you learn not to do that.Battery life seems good. When I stop playing with it like a new toy I'd expect to get 3-4 days out of a charge. There's lots of timer/office/calculator apps on there I'll hardly ever use. But being able to sort the menu into different pages means I have the always, sometimes and hardly ever pages.Bottom line is this is a great phone. Clearly, don't buy it if you don't want the keyboard - that's a major selling point. If you don't want the whole WiFi/3G business, then there are cheaper keyboard phones. The size isn't a drawback, it's like other smart phones. A bit heavy in a shirt pocket but not onerous.Bottom line personally - this met every one of my requirements with a lot to spare!

awesome phone!!
By A customer
Even though I only got the phone about 3 hours ago I am very pleased with it. The touch screen is quite sensitive but you have to wait a bit for it to load. Unfortunatly I cant have internet on it but will have it soon because we have to phone the courrier. The qwerty keyboard is stylish and is very easy to use. For me it is hard to change between the backs but that probably wont be a problem for you if you get one. As I am not used to touch screen or qwerty keys it is slightly hard to adapt but after a while it becomes easier. The camera is a good one and the photo editer is also good. All buttons are easy to use and the unlock button has to be used as you could accidently phone someone!!

good phone for the price
By R. M. Burrage
I'm a Nokia lover, so for me to buy a Samsung, it has to be special. I wanted a touchscreen and a qwerty keyboard and this phone has both, for a reasonable price. It was confusing to start with, the instruction booklet isn't very good, but once you get the hang of it, negotiating it is easy enough. The bits I don't like are the alarm won't go off when the phone is switched off; if a calender item is due when the phone is switched off, it wont tell you about it when the phone is switched on. Both of these functions I had on my Nokia and I miss. The camera doesn't seem very impressive for 3megapixels and its weird holding it to take a pic because its hard not to slide the qwerty keyboard out at the same time.Having said that, I am used to pretty basic phones, so it may be user error, but like I said the instruction booklet is naff, so how would I know?I don't use the wap (too expensive) and I find it disconcerting that the G symbol for it is present all the time. I worry I'm connected and using money! But then when I do connect, it changes colour, so I think I'm worrying for nothing. I'd still prefer to switch that symbol off, though. Same for the Bluetooth symbol.I like the wireless function, but my broadband is slow, so the internet's not very good on the phone, can't see much of FaceBook etc, so I dont bother. All in all though I am pleased with it
