Great phone

I was about to buy the HTC Desire Z when I discovered this one by complete accident. I held off on the Desire Z when I saw a demo version with a broken keyboard.For me, this was to replace a SE Xperia Mini Pro, as I wanted a larger screen and SE kept putting the larger Xperia pro release date back. Well, they can keep it. The Motorola Milestone 2 is a beauty. I've been through a few Androids now (I had the HTC Desire which I couldn't use) but this one just does the business.This comes with Android 2.2 but for some reason it doesn't have the "torch" feature, so I downloaded Tesla LED from the Android marketplace which does work. It also doesn't have an FM radio as such, it streams internet radio instead, which does use the battery. I just listen to MP3s which is my preference anyway.The camera is excellent. Texting is a breeze. The keyboard is well built. Phone usability is right up there, an annoying "feature" of Xperia is how to hang up after a call, the screen stays black. This one senses when it's away from your ear and the screen comes back to life.It has a feature where you can use it as a WiFi access point to tether your laptop/s using WiFi instead of cable, which I admit I haven't tested out yet.This phone really sneaks in under the radar, it deserves to be loved by so many people, but have they heard of it? Somebody in marketing needs to be sacked!

I was a bit worried as reviews of other smartphones always had a downside particularly around battery life. I've had my milestone 2 (not the coolest named phone) for 4 days now and other than the initial charge I've only had to recharge it once.It wasn't the cheapest phone, but it's a lot cheaper than an iphone and I wanted one to browse the internet which was as up to date as possible. The phone connected to my home wireless network with no problem and is a lot faster than my old laptop. It plays bbc iplayer without any juddering. Google maps is fast too. Some websites have a PC and mobile version. I've chosen the PC versions and find them perfectly acceptable to use.The milestone 2 came with an 8Gb SDHC card pre-installed which should keep me going for a while. The camera seems to be good, although I didn't buy it on the strength of its camera and it shoots HD movies, but I haven't tried that yet. It will be handy for those occasions where I wished I had my camera with me.There's Quickoffice, which has a spreadsheet, word-processor and pdf browser. Should be handy for work.The slide out keyboard (another selling point for me) is handy, but I am trying to type on the screen with my fat fingers and I'm getting quite accurate now.I know its early days but I can thoroughly recommend the pnone.

Great Android device

I tried the HTC desire Z and it didn't work out - the flip out keyboard made the device really flimsy.This phone is great tho. Really similar functionality (nice widgets, better camera and good keyboard), but a better handset.I'm definitely a fan of Android - you can do so much more with it and having widgets/feeds on your home screen is really useful. Loving this phone and every week i discover something new that i didn't know it could do.
