Be aware of the origins of these phones

I had a very similar experience. Same phone advertised as sim free, brand new with One year Motorola warrantee. Yes, the phone was brand new and sim free. However the phone was bit twitchy, would switch a ring tone without warning. I decided to check for software updates with Motorola. Yep, one was available. I registered the phone but once I tried to update it the software told me the warrantee had expired in August 2009 therefore I was not allowed the update. My first point is this. If you buy a Motorola and after one year it needs an update, Motorola just cast you off like an old shoe. This was my fourth (and last) I'll never buy Motorola again if that's the support I can expect. I was told the phone was intended for the Mexican market. Ok, my next point then, why do Motorola allow these phones to be sold? The phone was sent back and I have a Nokia from a reputable source. These dealers selling them cheap (not just Motorolas, sony and others) are hoping to get away with selling these phones with, supposedly full manufacturer cover and obviously they don't have. You'll find these phones being sold by dealers in a well known online auction site, it's the same story. Beware

The item arrived in goood\time. However, on arrival, it asfound that the mobile phone which was supposed to be unlocked as in fat was\ locked and according to an expert, locked to a\non-UK provider. On checking with the Motorola Database I discovered thhat the phone's wrrnty had expired in April 2009. From the packaging etcit appeared that the phone had beenn used in South or Central America, probably Mexico.I telephoned th supplier weho offered to forward me a Return Package and ofered to either replace the phone or give me my money back. I asked for a replacement in line with what the Company featured on Amazopn Marketplace. I later recieved an e mil informig me that they were out ofstock of that model and I would recieve my moey back which I did. However the Supplier continues to feature the same product n Amazon Market PLACE.

I love this phone love the fact you can put a ringer id on the name as well as the message so you know who is texting you as well as ringing dont know any other phone that does this, so pleased only thing is i put it in my pocket and broke the glass on front dont think they are very strong but really do love this phone as its slim and not bulky
