Great dual sim android phone

I wanted a dual sim phone as I was tired of carrying two handsets around (one personal and one work). I also wanted something that had a decent screen size/resolution but was still pocketable. I looked at a lot of the dual sim phones here on Amazon and did a lot of internet searching before deciding on this model. Obviously dual sim handsets from the mainstream brands are few and far between as they want to keep you tied into their network & handset upgrade cycles.I bought from Dracotek through Amazon as they seem to get very good reviews for their customer service so for me the small extra price was worth this peace of mind over buying from some of the other sellers who are slightly cheaper but have 'unknown' customer service.The phone arrived on the very last day of the Amazon delivery estimate so if you want your phone fast then this may not be for you. Coming from China I didn't think this was too bad, and there were no additional customs charges to pay so worth the wait in my view.The phone came with a plastic case designed specifically for this model that covers everything but the front of the phone. Also included was a screen protector which I made a complete hash of fitting so I'm now relying just on the gorilla glass screen itself. Also included was a Jiayu headset with mic. The earpieces work fine but the mic struggles to pick up my voice unless I'm speaking directly into it. If I turn my head slightly while talking the person on the other end says I go really quiet and am hard to hear.The phone itself is really well made with a lovely bright clear screen. It came running Android 4.2.1 Jelly Bean. Coming from 2.1 on my old HTC Desire this was a big improvement for me. The phone has a custom Jiayu launcher installed but it's a simple job to download any of the launchers from the Google Play store. I'm currently playing with Go Launcher. GPS works well and locks on to satellites quickly (something that many other dual sim Chinese brands seem to have problems with according to many of the Amazon reviews I've read).Wifi connectivity has been rock solid and I get a good signal anywhere in the house - much better than my HTC desire which would keep dropping the wifi connection for no apparent reason, requiring me to turn it into flight mode then back again to get it to reconnect.The dual sim functionality works really well. You can bind specific contacts to each sim if you want of let the phone ask you which sim you want to use each time you make a call.Many people seem to have problems getting a data connection on their UK sims with Chinese phones. When I put my Vodafone sim in, all the data settings for Vodafone appeared without me having to do anything but I couldn't get a data connection. After some googling the problem was solved by setting the authentication type to None in the data settings for this sim.I've put a 64gb microsd card in the phone so have massive amounts of storage to try filling up.Camera seems good for a phone, I've not tested this extensively yet but is much better than anything I've used on a mobile before (remember my comparison is a now rather outdated an HTC Desire!)I've not done any scientific battery life tests but I seem to be getting at least a couple of days out of it before recharges. With Jelly bean you can schedule auto power off and on so this helps by setting it to turn itself off automatically at night.All in all I'm very pleased with this purchase. I would have bought an iPhone if it had dual sim as I do like Apple products but to be honest at £200 for this (with 64gb sd card) compared to £700 for a 64gb iPhone I think the £500 I've saved makes this a no brainer.I did look at some of the cheaper £100ish Chinese dual sim phones but I'm glad I paid a bit extra for this one as it's definitely worth it.Hope this review helps if you are considering this handset as when I wrote this there were no reviews for this model on Amazon.

Overall, this is a capable, fast, feature-rich phone for a good price.Very fast. Apps launch quickly and you can switch between tasks with no hanging.Quite sturdily built. There are no design flourishes with this plainly designed phone. The back cover is fairly thin plastic but no worst than previous phones. Gorilla glass screen which seems fairly unscratchable. Oddly, the grill in the top speaker seems to be white which looks a little odd when the rest of the phone is dark grey/black. There was a small amount of different in the gap between the top of the screen and the case on one side compared to the other - and also a small amount of excess dried glue residue in the battery compartment. I'd suggest the quality control here isn't quite up to the same as the top phones - but then you are paying considerably less.Great battery life. Much of the heft in this phone comes from large battery which easily gives a couple of days of average use. You might get to 3-4 days with more casual use/aggressive battery management.GPS. Undecided. I got a quick lock on and location finding at home, but when travelling to a more remote part of the country it struggled to lock on again. That said, so did the car's inbuilt GPS. I'll need to test this a few more times.Screen. Clear and bright - even does fairly well in sunshine.Camera. Some pics came out well, some were rather blurred - especially when viewing on the computer afterwards (they looked fine on the phone). The colour reproduction is very good when especially when viewing on the phone.Sound. Decent enough in most situations. Be careful not to cover the rear speaker when using it without ear phones though.Connectivity. I live in a rural area and connectivity is not great. I'd suggest this phone does a bit better than most though. Wifi is very good indeed.The supplied plastic case was a rather poor fit. I'll be looking for an alternative as soon as possible.
